For example, the adoption of various security technologies in airports has transformed the time taken to process passengers at both ends of the journey, reducing the waiting time for passengers, while increasing the level of security and reducing the demands on security personnel.

Biometrics technology can also be used in other environments to undertake more everyday tasks such as access and identity management for buildings and computer devices, providing both improved security and a quicker, less resource intensive solution than security tokens or other even more manual processes.

Similarly, intelligent CCTV is enabling organizations to effectively allocate resources, as well as identifying and capturing anomalies – such as a package left in an unexpected location – providing a more preventative approach to security.

But it is again the integration and application of the various security technologies which brings the greater benefit.
